Proment Foundation: ‘Appreciate the differences’
The mission of the PROMENT Foundation is to stimulate the meeting and connection between people with different cultural backgrounds. The aim is to increase acceptance of diversity and promote inclusivity. The PROMENT Foundation does this by creating space and encouraging people to be open-minded about their own wishes and desires, and those of others. To look without judgment, to let go of your own perspective, in short: to be open from a different mindset. We contribute concretely to this mission by offering training courses, in which we provide education about mentalization processes and teach skills to strengthen mutual connection and understanding.
The training courses usually consist of four to six meetings, which start with a theoretical part, and a practical part, all under professional guidance. Under the tab ‘trainings’ you can find which trainings we offer and what their content is.
We view culture in the broadest sense of the word: differences in ethnicity, religion, socio-economic situation, health and disabilities, LGTBQ situations and everything else that leads to a different experience.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- Helping people increase understanding, tolerance, and acceptance regarding diversity.
- Recognizing one’s own (cultural) perspective and that of others.
- Promoting your curiosity for others.
- Searching and finding common ground to promote inclusivity.
- Helping organizations
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE
The PROMENT Foundation would like to contribute in the field of inclusivity. “How” do you allow vulnerable target groups to participate in society? By bringing people from different cultural backgrounds together and stimulating dialogue.
The Foundation has a great affinity with people with a migration background, especially asylum seekers and refugees. They are often extra vulnerable due to a traumatic past, as well as due to staying in an environment that is unfamiliar to them, where the social network has disappeared and there is a language deficiency.
The target group of the PROMENT Foundation is enormous, perhaps the entire society. However, in order to arrive at concrete training situations, we are looking for organizations that deal with diversity. Who, together with the PROMENT foundation, want to bring people together and promote meetings.
